การจัดทำบัญชี และ บัญชีที่ต้องจัดทำ
1. บุคคลธรรมดา หรือห้างหุ้นส่วนที่มิได้จดทะเบียนที่ประกอบธุรกิจ เป็นผู้ผลิต ผู้จำหน่าย ผู้มีไว้เพื่อจำหน่าย ผู้นำเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักร หรือผู้ส่งออกไปนอกราชอาณาจักร ซึ่งสินค้าประเภทแถบเสียง แถบวีดีทัศน์และแผ่นซีดี ต้องจัดทำบัญชีสินค้า นับแต่วันที่เริ่มต้นประกอบกิจการ
2. ห้างหุ้นส่วนจำกัด ห้างหุ้นส่วนสามัญนิติบุคคล บริษัทจำกัด บริษัทมหาชนจำกัด นิติบุคคลที่ตั้งขึ้นตามกฎหมายต่างประเทศที่ประกอบกิจการในในประเทศไทย และกิจการร่วมค้าตามประมวลรัษฎากร ต้องจัดทำบัญชี ดังต่อไปนี้
2.1 บัญชีรายวัน
(1) บัญชีเงินสด
(2) บัญชีธนาคาร แยกเป็นแต่ละเลขที่บัญชีธนาคาร
(3) บัญชีรายวันซื้อ
(4) บัญชีรายวันขาย
(5) บัญชีรายวันทั่วไป
2.2 บัญชีแยกประเภท
(1) บัญชีแยกประเภท สินทรัพย์ หนี้สินและทุน
(2) บัญชีแยกประเภทรายได้และรายจ่าย
(3) บัญชีแยกประเภทลูกหนี้
(4) บัญชีแยกประเภทเจ้าหนี้
2.3 บัญชีสินค้า
2.4 บัญชีรายวัน บัญชีแยกประเภทอื่นและบัญชีแยกประเภทย่อยตามความจำเป็นแก่การทำบัญชีของธุรกิจ
ข้อปฏิบัติในการลงรายการในบัญชี
1. ลงรายการในบัญชีเป็นภาษาไทย หรือจะลงเป็นภาษาต่างประเทศก็ได้ แต่ต้องมีภาษาไทยกำกับหรือจะลงรายการเป็นรหัสบัญชีก็ได้แต่ต้องมีคู่มือคำแปลรหัสที่เป็นภาษาไทยไว้
2. ต้องลงรายการในบัญชีด้วยหมึก หรือดีดพิมพ์ หรือตีพิมพ์ หรือวิธีอื่นใดที่ให้ผลทำนองเดียวกัน
3. ต้องมีเอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชีที่สามารถแสดงความถูกต้องและครบถ้วนของรายการบัญชีและเป็นที่เชื่อถือได้
4. รายการในบัญชีที่เป็นจำนวนเงินต้องเป็นหน่วยเงินตราไทย
เอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชี
เอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชี หมายถึง บันทึก หนังสือ หรือ เอกสารใดๆ ที่ใช้เป็นหลักฐานในการลงรายการในบัญชี แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ประเภท คือ
1. เอกสารที่จัดทำขึ้นโดยบุคคลภายนอก
2. เอกสารที่จัดทำขึ้นโดยผู้มีหน้าที่จัดทำบัญชีเพื่อออกให้แก่บุคคลภายนอก
3. เอกสารที่จัดทำขึ้นโดยผู้มีหน้าที่จัดทำบัญชีเพื่อใช้ในกิจการของตนเองทั้งนี้เอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชีทุกประเภทต้องมีข้อความและรายการตามที่กำหนด
การลงรายการในบัญชีรายวันและบัญชีสินค้า ต้องมีเอกสารดังต่อไปนี้
1. มีเอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชีทุกรายการและเอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชีนั้นต้องสามารถแสดงความถูกต้องครบถ้วนของรายการบัญชีทุกรายการตามความเป็นจริงและเป็นที่เชื่อถือได้
2. ใช้เอกสารที่ต้องใช้ประกอบการลงบัญชีในลำดับที่ 1 หรือ 2 แล้วแต่กรณีก่อน เว้นแต่ไม่มีเอกสารดังกล่าวจึงให้ใช้เอกสารในลำดับที่ 3
